Banh Mi Burger

This banh mi burger is my favorite recipe I’ve made to date // I love combining my Vietnamese flavors with my love for burgers, it’s perfect to me… very proud of this one!

INGREDIENTS for patty:

- 1 pound ground pork

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 2 tablespoons fish sauce

- 3 tablespoons brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons sesame oil

- 1 tablespoon oil

- 3 tablespoons lemongrass minced

- 3 tablespoons garlic minced

- Salt and pepper for taste

- Cooking oil

INGREDIENTS for pickled veggies:

- 1 large carrot peeled and julienned

- 1 daikon peeled and julienned

- 1/2 cup rice vinegar

- 3 tablespoons sugar

- 1/4 cup water

- Salt for taste

INGREDIENTS for burger:

- 4 burger buns

- Japanese mayo

- Pate

- Cilantro

- Green onion sliced thinly

- Cucumber sliced

- Jalapeños thinly sliced

INSTRUCTIONS for patty:

1. In a small mixing bowl add all pork patty ingredients and mix well. Form four even sized patties.

2. In a medium pan add oil and turn heat to medium.

3. Carefully add the patties into the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side.

4. Once cooked, remove from heat and set aside to cool then serve.

INSTRUCTIONS for picked veggies:

1. Combine all ingredients and let soak until ready to assemble banh mi.

INSTRUCTIONS for burger:

1. Spread mayo on one side of bread, spread pate on other side.

2. Add pork.

3. Add pickled veggies.

4. Add cucumbers, cilantro, green onions and jalapeños.
